RESOLUTION HONORING DETECTIVE STEPHEN SARGEANT
RESOLUTION #01-133
WHEREAS, Detective Stephen Sargeant began his employment with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office in 1975; and
WHEREAS, after high school Stephen joined the Army where he toured Germany and left the Army as a Specialist, he then went on to obtain an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Lansing Community College; and
WHEREAS, prior to being promoted to Detective, Stephen worked in the Corrections Division of the Sheriff's Office, Field Services Traffic Division, Metro Narcotics, Homicide Task Force, K-9 Division and Community Policing in Webberville; and
WHEREAS, Stephen Sargeant has also been honored with several awards over the years, he is the recipient of three Meritorious Awards, eight unit citations from Ingham County and one from the Michigan State Police, four certificates of appreciation, one of which is from the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2001, Detective Stephen Sargeant retired from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office with over 25 years of service.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Detective Stephen Sargeant for his many years of dedicated service to the County of Ingham and its citizens.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
