RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY OF MASON'S REQUEST TO PERMIT PLACEMENT OF A WELL AT THE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS



RESOLUTION #01-161



WHEREAS, the City of Mason has requested permission to place a municipal well on the Fairgrounds' property; and



WHEREAS, City representatives have reviewed this request with the Fair Board; and



WHEREAS, the City of Mason has agreed to install a sidewalk that would extend from the west side of Rayner Park to the east side of the fair grounds at no cost to the County in exchange for the use of the new water well property, at a cost value of $10,000; and



WHEREAS, the City of Mason has also agreed to install a back flow device on the water line leading to the Fairgrounds from the city water main at no cost to the County, at a cost value of $3,500 to $5,000; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Fair Board and Fairgrounds' Manager support the water well placement and agree that the extension of the sidewalk and the installation of the back flow device are of benefit to the Fairgrounds.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the placement of a water well on the Ingham County Fairgrounds by the City of Mason, as specified in the City's letter of May 2, 2001.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the County Attorney to prepare the necessary documents, including an easement as described in the City's letter of May 2, 2001, with the Controller and the County Clerk authorized to sign the same.
