INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT TO PURCHASE

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FOR BALDWIN PARK FROM PLAY ENVIRONMENTS, INC.

RESOLUTION #01-223

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Parks Department has a master plan in place to upgrade playground equipment at Ingham County Parks in order to comply with safety standards; and

WHEREAS, sealed bids were solicited and evaluated by the Ingham County Purchasing and Properties Department, and it is their recommendation with the concurrence of the Ingham County Parks Department to award the contract to Play Environments, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, representatives of the community have expressed their desire for a playground and have volunteered to save labor costs by assembling the playground equipment themselves; and

WHEREAS, Play Environments, Inc. has submitted a successful bid in the amount of $20,400.00; and

WHEREAS, funds have been identified in the Parks Department budget for the replacement of the playground equipment at Baldwin Park.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Parks Department to enter into a contract with Play Environments, Inc. for the purchase of playground equipment for Baldwin Park in an amount not to exceed $20,400.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Attorney to prepare the necessary documents for the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk authorized to sign the same.
