RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CHANGE IN THE PARK MANAGER I CLASSIFICATION

RESOLUTION #01-224

WHEREAS, park managers for the Ingham County parks system are currently classified at a Manager I or Manager II level; and

WHEREAS, the three current park manager positions have evolved to a point where there is no significant difference in responsibility; and

WHEREAS, having all three park managers at the same level will provide flexibility for assignments within the park system; and

WHEREAS, a new park manager position has been established at the Park Manager II level; and

WHEREAS, it would be desirable, and AFSCME has agreed, to reclassify position #PKUN1, Park Manager I position to a Park Manager II level; and

WHEREAS, the classification of Park Manager I shall remain established in the collective bargaining agreement; and

WHEREAS, this change in levels could occur without appropriation of additional funds; and

WHEREAS, funds used would be excess funds from the monies budgeted for the new park manager position.

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Parks Board has recommended the reclassification of the Park Manager I (position #PKUN1) position to a Park Manager II level (position #PKN01).

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the reclassification of the Park Manager I (position #PKUN1) position to a Park Manager II level (position #PKN01).
