RESOLUTION ADJUSTING FEES FOR CERTIFIED COPIES OBTAINED FROM THE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE



RESOLUTION #01-227



WHEREAS, fees for certified copies of vital records and for returned checks have not been adjusted for several years; and



WHEREAS, the cost of county operations has increased during that time; and



WHEREAS, a review of fees charged by other counties and the State of Michigan indicate that charges by Ingham County are currently much less than fees charged by others.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that effective September 1, 2001, the fee for the search and purchase of certified copies of vital records shall be changed:



FROM: $5 for the first copy of a record and $2 for each additional copy of the same record at the time of purchase



TO: $10 for the first copy of a record and $4 for each additional copy of the same record at the time of purchase.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that effective September 1, 2001, the fee for returned checks will be changed from $15 to $25 for all checks presented to the County.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a marriage license waiting period waiver fee of $25 is established, effective September 1, 2001.
