INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO CONTRACT WITH THE MICHIGAN MUNICIPAL RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY, 2001 RISK AVOIDANCE PROGRAM

RESOLUTION #01-23

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office has applied for and has been approved to receive a Risk Avoidance Program grant from the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority; and

WHEREAS, the award amount for the grant is $4,838.00 with a local in-kind match requirement of $3,754.00 for a total project of $8,592.00; and

WHEREAS, the grant is authorized for the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to host two (2) Correctional Training Officer (CTO) programs in the year 2001; and

WHEREAS, the Correctional Training Officer (CTO) program is designed to reduce jail liability through standardized training and evaluation of new employees. The program will be open to other Michigan County Sheriff's Office employees; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office match for the grant will be existing budgeted wages of the employee instructors.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves entering into contract with the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority for a total of $4,838.00 with a local in kind match requirement of $3,754.00 for a total project cost of $8,592.00 for the time period of January 1, 2001 through September 30, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the matching in kind funds of $3,754.00 from the existing 2001 Sheriff's Office budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller to make the necessary budget adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2001 budget.
