RESOLUTION HONORING BEN PULVER



RESOLUTION #01-244



WHEREAS, Ben Pulver will be a junior at Mason High School where he runs track and cross country; and



WHEREAS, Ben is very active in his youth group at the Mason United Methodist Church and community theater; and



WHEREAS, during his career in scouting, Ben has attended three of the Boy Scouts of America's national high adventure bases, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Florida's National Sea Base and Minnesota's Canoe Base; and



WHEREAS, this summer, he also attended a National Jamboree in Virginia with a council contingent, where he served as a Patrol Leader; and



WHEREAS, Ben is a member of the Order of the Arrow and has earned many awards including World Conservation, 50 mile, and Scouting Family of the Year; and



WHEREAS, he has held several leadership positions within the troop, including assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader; and



WHEREAS, as a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 141, chartered by St. James Church, Ben has recently earned the highest rank attainable in scouting, the Eagle Scout; and



WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18.



WHEREAS, Ben completed a service project at the Mason Historical Museum which consisted of refurbishing and installation of an antique flagpole, wiring the pole for light and building a patio from bricks saved from the original city streets of Mason; and



WHEREAS, under his supervision, 31 people participated in the completion of this project which involved over 151 hours of work, Ben contributed an additional 29 hours of planning and follow-up tasks.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulate Ben Pulver for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extend its sincere appreciation to Ben for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
