INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION TO FURTHER AUTHORIZE THE INGHAM COUNTY DRAIN
COMMISSIONER AND INGHAM COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO COMPLETE PHASE 1 OF A CLOSURE PLAN FOR ARSENIC SEDIMENT SPOIL SITES AT LAKE LANSING
RESOLUTION #01-248
WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution #00-211 to proceed with Phase 1 of a closure plan for the Lake Lansing Arsenic Sediment Spoils Piles; and
WHEREAS, the resolution authorizes the expenditure of $15,000 to be appropriated from contingency funds to cover related costs of sampling, testing, and relevant expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the same resolution authorizes the Ingham County Drain Commissioner and the Ingham County Health Department to use this money to carry out the Phase 1 closure plan; and
WHEREAS, testing costs have exceeded the estimated $15,000 by $3,744.05; and
WHEREAS, another $1,200 may be necessary to finalize the Phase 1 closure plan; and
WHEREAS, the initial test results are very promising and may allow the closure of these sites by the completion of the Phase 1 plan;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorize the Ingham County Drain Commissioner and the Ingham County Health Department to proceed with the final steps necessary to finish the Phase 1 plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that $5,000 be appropriated from contingency fund to cover the costs incurred over the original $15,000, and to allow for any extra costs necessary.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to make any necessary budget adjustments.
