RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

TO ACCEPT FUNDS TO PURCHASE A BICYCLE

RESOLUTION #01-265

WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has offered to donate up to $3,206.05 for the purpose of purchasing a bicycle and all equipment; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office uses bicycles to patrol neighborhoods and has found them to promote community relations and assist in crime prevention; and

WHEREAS, the Business Community Policing Officer will use the bicycle to patrol businesses in the downtown area of Delhi Township.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the acceptance of a $3,206.05 donation from the Delhi Township DDA to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Delhi Division to purchase a bicycle and related equipment for the Business Community Policing Officer.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners expresses their appreciation to the Delhi Township DDA for their support of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Delhi Division Business Community Policing Officer.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to accept the donations and the Controller to make any necessary budget adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2001 budget.
