RESOLUTION HONORING PATRICK ST. GEORGE



RESOLUTION #01-276



WHEREAS, Patrick St. George began his employment with the Clinton, Eaton, Ingham Community Mental Health in March of 1978 as Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services; and



WHEREAS, as Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services, Patrick developed and supervised an Assertive Community Treatment Program, as well as a residential program with a full range of options for clients; and



WHEREAS, Patrick also established the Charter House, a psychosocial rehabilitation program designed to assist the long term mentally ill with community adjustment and managed an ongoing JTPA federal grant contract with Michigan Rehabilitation Services, and a community work experience program for consumers of the Charter House; and



WHEREAS, in August of 1988 he became Program Director of Community Support Services where he was responsible for overseeing the operation of all services for the seriously mentally ill in the tri-county area; and



WHEREAS, as Program Director, Patrick developed a crisis response team to serve adults who are at risk of needing psychiatric hospitalization, the dual recovery team which serves consumers who are mentally ill and have a substance abuse problem, and the Housing Outreach Program which provides case management and other clinical services primarily through outreach services and provides assessment and short term case management for homeless individuals; and



WHEREAS, after years of dedicating his life to assisting citizens with serious and persistent mental illness, Patrick St. George is retiring from his position at Community Mental Health on September 28, 2001.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Patrick St. George for his many years of service with the Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Community Mental Health and for his devotion and commitment to improving the quality of life for the mentally ill citizens in the tri-county area.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him the best in all of his future endeavors.
