INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A FEE OF $10.00 PER PRELIMINARY BREATH TEST ADMINISTERED AS A RESULT OF A COURT ORDER

RESOLUTION # 01-290

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office administers Preliminary Breath Tests to those individuals who have been convicted of alcohol related offenses; and

WHEREAS, these tests are administered as a result of an agreement with the Court, related to the probationary period; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office wishes to establish a fee for administering such a test; and

WHEREAS, the fee is based on the officer's time involved and the cost of the test, along with any possible action that might be necessary as a result of the failure to pass the test.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to charge a fee of $10.00 per Preliminary Breath Test.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to charge this fee beginning October 1, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make any necessary adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2001 budget, related to anticipated revenues.
