INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN SPECIAL ELECTION EXPENSES

RESOLUTION #01-314

WHEREAS, on August 7, 2001, a countywide election was held on two ballot questions authorized by the Ingham County Board of Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, in some municipalities, the county questions were added to the ballot of an election which had been scheduled by the municipality, while in other municipalities, the county questions were the only questions on the ballot; and

WHEREAS, in addition to election supplies required to be supplied to municipalities, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners has determined, in those instances where a municipality conducted an election where the county questions were the only questions on the ballot, to also reimburse the municipality for the wages of election inspectors who worked the special election as well as for the costs of publishing the notices of registration and election; and

WHEREAS, the County Clerk has compiled a list of expenses to be reimbursed, totaling $34,721.49.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes reimbursement of said expenses as presented by the County Clerk.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a transfer of $34,722 from the Contingency Account to the Elections budget for this purpose.
