RESOLUTION HONORING JOE SCHMIDT

RESOLUTION #01-364

WHEREAS, Joe Schmidt is a senior at Mason High School; and

WHEREAS, Joe is very active in varsity soccer, National Honor Society and has participated in track and Destination Imagination; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 141, chartered by St. James Church, Joe has recently earned the highest rank attainable in scouting, the Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18 and must also complete a service project for the benefit of his community; and.

WHEREAS, Joe completed a service project which included painting the auditorium and installing window blinds at the Mason Branch of the Capital Area District Library; and

WHEREAS, under his supervision, 17 people participated in the completion of this project which involved 78 hours of work, Joe contributed another 25 hours in planning, carrying out and performing follow-up work on the project.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulate Joe Schmidt for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extends its sincere appreciation to Joe for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
