RESOLUTION TO REORGANIZE WITHIN THE TREASURER'S OFFICE



RESOLUTION #01-372



WHEREAS, the State of Michigan in Act 123 of the Public Acts of 1999, significantly changed the property tax statute as it pertains to delinquent taxes; and



WHEREAS, the Account Clerk III position played a primary role in managing the complicated tax sale provision of the Property Tax Act of 1893; and



WHEREAS, the future administration of the delinquent taxes and the other functions of the Treasurer's office can be carried out by an Account Clerk II; and



WHEREAS, in January of 2002, Gail Nye who holds the position of Account Clerk III will retire after many years of loyal and diligent service; and



WHEREAS, the functions of the Treasurer's office can be carried out by an additional position of Account Clerk II.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that at Ms. Nye's retirement in January of 2002 the position of Account Clerk III is eliminated and an Account Clerk II position will be created.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller and Human Resources Director are authorized to make the necessary budgetary and personnel position changes.
