RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FEES FOR PASSPORT AND CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT PHOTOS TAKEN IN THE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #01-373

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Clerk's Office processes applications for Michigan Concealed Weapons permits; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Clerk's office processes applications for United States Passports; and

WHEREAS, photographs complying with certain specifications must be submitted by the applicant at the time of application for both documents; and

WHEREAS, photographs submitted by applicants often do not meet the specifications set by statute, causing the applicant to have their photographs retaken before they can apply; and

WHEREAS, the customer's convenience would be enhanced by the ability to obtain those photographs for a reasonable fee in the County Clerk's office at the same time they submit their applications; and

WHEREAS, customers frequently ask if the County Clerk's office provides lamination service for concealed weapons permits; and

WHEREAS, proceeds from the sales of passport and concealed weapons photographs and the provision of lamination service would provide a slight increase in revenue to Ingham County;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that effective January 1, 2002, the fee for passport and concealed weapons permit photographs shall be established at $10.00; and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that effective January 1, 2002, the fee for lamination of concealed weapons permits shall be established at $2.00.
