RESOLUTION TO APPOINT SEVERAL PHYSICIANS FROM MSU/COM AS

DEPUTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS



RESOLUTION #01-62



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, under the authority of Public Act 181 of 1953, as amended, is responsible for appointing the County Medical Examiner, and with the approval of the Medical Examiner, may appoint Deputy Medical Examiners; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Health Department houses the Ingham County Medical Examiner's Office; and



WHEREAS, it is convenient to have a Deputy Medical Examiner in the Health Department at all times to sign cremation permits for funeral homes; and



WHEREAS, the County's contract for services with the College of Osteopathic Medicine provides that:



Physicians assigned to the Adult Health Clinic, who are also appointed as Deputy Medical Examiners by the Board of Commissioners, will review, make judgements, and sign cremation permits on behalf of the Medical Examiner.



WHEREAS, the following physicians have been assigned to the Adult Health Clinic; and



John Greene, D.O.

William Pintal, D.O.

John Thornburg, D.O.

Cheryl Doane, D.O.

R. Taylor Scott, D.O.



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners has appointed Dean G. Sienko, M.D., M.S. as Chief Medical Examiner in Ingham County to a term expiring December 31, 2003; and



WHEREAS, Dr. Sienko is recommending that the Board of Commissioners hereby appoint these physicians as Deputy Medical Examiners.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners appoints these physicians as Ingham County Deputy Medical Examiners for the period of March 1, 2001 through December 31, 2003.



HUMAN SERVICES: The Human Services Committee will meet on 2/26/01
