RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE CONTRACT WITH CANTEEN SERVICES

FOR INMATE COMMISSARY SERVICES FOR THE

INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #01-66

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office utilizes a vendor contract to provide commissary services to the inmates at the Ingham County Jail; and

WHEREAS, the current contract for Inmate Commissary expires February 15, 2001; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director and the Sheriff's Office have conducted a Request For Proposals (RFP) process, evaluated three proposals and are jointly recommending acceptance of a Jail Commissary Services contract by the County.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes entering into contract with Canteen Services for inmate commissary services for the Ingham County Sheriff's Office for the time period of March 1, 2001 through February 28, 2006.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes extending the Swanson Inmate Commissary Services agreement under the same terms and conditions of their previous agreement through February 28, 2001 to provide for a transition period until the new vendor agreement takes effect.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution subject to the approval as to form by the County Attorney.
