RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A FIVE (5) YEAR CONTRACT WITH QUALITY FIRE EQUIPMENT TO PERFORM MONTHLY MAINTENANCE/INSPECTIONS OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AT ALL COUNTY FACILITIES AND SEMI-ANNUAL SERVICE ON FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS AND KITCHEN HOODS WHERE NEEDED

WHEREAS, the current contract for monthly inspections on fire extinguishers and semi-annual service on fire suppression systems and kitchen hoods has expired; and
WHEREAS, the funds for this agreement are available within the Facilities contractual budget; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department solicited and reviewed proposals for a five (5) year service agreement for fire extinguishers, fire suppressions systems and kitchen hoods; and
WHEREAS, Quality Fire Equipment met all mandatory requirements by supplying us with a Fire Alarm/Fire Suppression Firm Certification and Mechanical License as required by the State of Michigan to perform such services for a annual cost of $15,893.00 total five (5) year cost $79,465.00.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes entering into a contract with Quality Fire Equipment, 624 N. Larch Street, Lansing, MI 48912 for five (5) years starting on April 1, 2002 through March 31, 2007 to perform fire extinguisher, fire suppression system, and kitchen hood maintenance and inspections for a total five (5) year cost of $79,465.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Attorney to prepare the necessary documents with the Board Chairperson and County Clerk to sign the same.
