RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR CRITICAL BRIDGE FUNDING FOR THE HOWELL ROAD BRIDGE OVER SYCAMORE CREEK IN THE CITY OF MASON

RESOLUTION #02-123

WHEREAS, the bridge carrying Howell Road over Sycamore Creek is under the jurisdiction of the Ingham County Road Commission; and

WHEREAS, during an inspection by the Road Commission, the bridge inspector discovered heavy corrosion at many of the beam ends that support the bridge deck. The bridge is not in danger of falling, but it needs to be rehabilitated or replaced due to its conditions; and

WHEREAS, to assist the Road Commission in obtaining critical bridge funding, the Road Commission is requesting that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners adopt this resolution supporting their request to apply for federal and state critical funds.

THEREFORE BE IR RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby supports the submission of an application for critical bridge funds by the Ingham County Road Commission for the replacement of the Howell Road Bridge over Sycamore Creek located in the City of Mason.
