RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR CRITICAL BRIDGE FUNDING FOR THE COLLEGE ROAD BRIDGE OVER SYCAMORE CREEK IN DELHI CHARTER TOWNSHIP AND ALAIEDON TOWNSHIP

RESOLUTION #02-124

WHEREAS, the bridge carrying College Road over the Sycamore Creek is under the jurisdiction of the Ingham County Road Commission; and

WHEREAS, the bridge needs to be replaced because it is functionally obsolete and in poor condition; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Road Commission had previously submitted an application for critical bridge funding for the College Road Bridge in 1992 and was not successful; and

WHEREAS, the bridge was ranked 79^th on the funding list in 1999; and

WHEREAS, since that time, the application has been ranked 91^st on the 2002 funding list; and

WHEREAS, to assist the Road Commission in obtaining critical bridge funding, the Road Commission is requesting that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners adopt this resolution supporting their request to apply for federal and state critical funds.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby supports the submission of an application for critical bridge funds by the Ingham County Road Commission for the replacement of the College Road Bridge over Sycamore Creek located in Alaiedon Township and Delhi Charter Township identified as: MDOT Bridge ID B01 of 33-2-0006702, Structure No. 3875. Section 12 of Delhi Charter Township and Section 7 of Alaiedon Township, Ingham County, Michigan.
