RESOLUTION HONORING DETECTIVE LIEUTENANT TIMOTHY HOWERY



RESOLUTION #02-163



WHEREAS, Detective Lieutenant Timothy Howery began his career with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office in June of 1977, when he was hired as a Road Patrol Officer; and



WHEREAS, from 1979 to 1988 he was assigned to Traffic Services and from 1988 to 1991 and 1993 to 1996 he was assigned to the Personnel and Training Section; and



WHEREAS, from 1991 to 1992, Timothy Howery was stationed at the Delhi Township Division of the Sheriff's Office, in 1996 he was promoted to Sergeant and served as Road Patrol Shift Sergeant; and



WHEREAS, in 1998 he was promoted to Lieutenant and served as Road Patrol Shift Lieutenant, Corrections Shift Lieutenant and then Detective Lieutenant, the position he currently holds; and



WHEREAS, from 1983 to present, Timothy Howery served as a Firearms Instructor where he developed and instructed firearms training programs to staff of the Sheriff's Office and other departments, he received a 1990 nomination for the United States Treasury Department's "Excellence in Law Enforcement Training" award for the development of firearms training programs and a 1991 nomination for the 100 Club's Officer of the Year; and



WHEREAS, Detective Lieutenant Howery became the departments first certified traffic accident reconstructionist, served as commander of the multi-jurisdictional Ingham County Major Crimes Task Force, Co-Developer of the Pursuit Driving Program held annually at the Michigan International Speedway and received several meritorious service awards and unit citations; and



WHEREAS, after 25 years of service, Detective Lieutenant Timothy Howery is retiring from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Detective Lieutenant Timothy Howery for his many years of service to the County of Ingham and its citizens.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
