RESOLUTION HONORING CHRISTOPHER HASTINGS

RESOLUTION #02-172

WHEREAS, Christopher Hastings is a Junior at Everett High School; and

WHEREAS, Christopher is very active in varsity swimming; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 411, Christ United Methodist Church, chartered by Chief Okemos Council, Christopher has recently earned the highest rank attainable in scouting, the Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18 and must also complete a service project for the benefit of his community; and.

WHEREAS, Christopher completed a service project which included organizing, building and collecting hand-made toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program; and

WHEREAS, under his supervision, over 25 people participated in the completion of this project which took over 4 months; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulate Christopher Hastings for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extends its sincere appreciation to Christopher for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
