SUFFICIENT TO CONTINUE LIFEGUARD SERVICES; IMPLEMENT OTHER SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS, AND PROVIDE FOR OTHER OPERATIONAL AND CAPITAL
NEEDS AT INGHAM COUNTY PARKS
RESOLUTION #02-177
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that lifeguard services be restored at Lake Lansing Park; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has also determined that some method of user fees be implemented to provide for the continuation of lifeguard services, for the implementation of other safety improvements, and for other operational and capital needs at Ingham County Parks.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Parks Board is directed to immediately begin the process of restoring lifeguard services at Lake Lansing Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Controller is authorized to make necessary adjustments within the current Parks' operational and capital improvement budgets, and to approve necessary purchases for restoring these services, and if necessary, to transfer up to $20,000 from the Contingency Account to the Parks' Budget, in order to provide funds and equipment to restore lifeguard services as quickly as possible.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parks Board is directed to develop for the consideration of the Board of Commissioners a proposal to implement, beginning in January, 2003 a method of user fees and any additional methods which will provide revenues sufficient to provide for the continuation of lifeguard services at Lake Lansing, Hawk Island, and Burchfield parks; for the implementation of other safety improvements, and for other operational and capital needs at Ingham County Parks.
