RESOLUTION HONORING MICHAEL K. STURLEY



RESOLUTION #02-187



WHEREAS, Michael K. Sturley began serving as the Director of Purchasing for the Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Community Mental Health in 1974; and



WHEREAS, in the late '70's Michael became Assistant to the Executive Director at that time, Thomas Ennis, and was later promoted to Associate Director; and



WHEREAS, in 1994, Executive Director Robert Sheehan promoted Michael to the position of Deputy Executive Director; and



WHEREAS, as Deputy Executive Director, Michael works with a $64 million budget and supervises eleven individuals including the Directors of Children's Services, Community Services for Developmentally Disabled, Human Resources, Finance, Substance Abuse, Adult Mental Health and Information Services; and



WHEREAS, Michael also supervises the many providers of services to Community Mental Health and serves as the property manager of 65 properties, 40 of which are owned by Community Mental Health and 25 which are leased; and



WHEREAS, he is a true friend and supporter to people with developmental disabilities and mental illness, which is demonstrated by his deep sense of commitment and concern for all those served by Community Mental Health; and



WHEREAS, on July 31, 2002, Michael will be retiring from his position as Deputy Executive Director at the Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Community Mental Health.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Michael K. Sturley for his years of dedicated service to the Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Community Mental Health and for the many contributions he has made to the citizens of Ingham County and the surrounding area.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
