RESOLUTION HONORING SERGEANT MICHAEL BENNETT

RESOLUTION #02-216

WHEREAS, Sergeant Michael Bennett began his career with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office in 1983, as a Corrections Officer, and

WHEREAS, in 1997 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Corrections Division; and

WHEREAS, Michael is also a Vietnam Veteran, having served with the 545^th Military Police Company, 1^st Air Calvary Division; and

WHEREAS, during his employment with Ingham County Sergeant Bennett has earned three unit citations and has served four years on the Awards Board; and

WHEREAS, Michael has also served as the past President of the Fraternal Order of Police non-supervisors bargaining unit and has served on contract bargaining teams for both supervisory and non supervisory divisions; and

WHEREAS, after 19 years of service, Sergeant Michael Bennett is retiring from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Sergeant Michael Bennett for his many years of dedicated service to the County of Ingham and its citizens.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
