INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A REORGANIZATION IN THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT'S DENTAL CLINICS

RESOLUTION #02-227

WHEREAS, the Health Department operates a Dental Clinic at the Jolly-Cedar complex which is supervised by the Adult Health Clinic Coordinator and is primarily focused on servicing adults; and

WHEREAS, the Health Department operates a Dental Clinic at the Pennsylvania Campus of Ingham Regional Medical Center which is supervised by a Dental Director and is primarily focused on serving children; and

WHEREAS, the long-serving Coordinator of the Adult Health Clinic has retired; and

WHEREAS, the Dental Director and the Director of Community Health Services have recommended that both dental clinics be supervised by the Dental Director and that certain other staff changes be implemented; and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the proposed reorganization of dental services and advises that the reorganization will be accomplished within the existing budget.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a reorganization of the dental services programs operated by the Health Department, which will result in the Dental Director supervising both of the Department's dental clinics.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a Dentist position is created at the Managerial 11 (M-11) level and will be funded from the contractual services line item in the Adult Dental Clinic.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Dental Hygienist position number HLHDTL007 (UAW TOPS H) be eliminated effective September 15, 2002.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a Dental Assistant position (UAW TOPS D) be established effective September 15, 2002.
