RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CURRENT CONTRACT WITH ROYAL ROOFING COMPANY, INC. FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE ROOF AT THE HUMAN SERVICES FACILITIES

RESOLUTION #02-264

WHEREAS, Phase 1 for the removal and replacement of approximately 30 square feet of roof not to exceed $120,000.00 has been completed sooner then scheduled and at less cost, this project was approved in the 2002 Capital Improvements Plan and funded from the Public Improvements Fund; and

WHEREAS, we are requesting that an amendment be made to the current contract with Royal Roofing Company, Inc. to complete in full the removal and replacement of roof on the Human Services Facility; and

WHEREAS, an advance from the Public Improvements Fund in the amount of $28,515.00 will be needed in order to complete this project, this amount will be repaid by the tenants of the Human Services Facility over the useful life of the new roof which is 15 years; and

WHEREAS, we will need to adjust the 2003 Capital Improvements Plan to remove the $120,000.00 which was approved for Phase 2 of the replacement roof project for the Human Services Facilities.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment be made to the current contract with Royal Roofing Company, Inc., 2445 Brown Road, Orion, Michigan 48359 for the completion of the removal and replacement of the roof on the Human Services Facility in the amount of $28,515.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Attorney to prepare the necessary documents with the Board Chairperson and County Clerk to sign the same.
