RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGES IN THE MANAGERIAL/CONFIDENTIAL

PERSONNEL MANUAL AND APPROVING INCREASES FOR

COUNTY-WIDE ELECTED OFFICIALS



RESOLUTION #02-281



WHEREAS, the Managerial/Confidential/Elected Official Steering Committee solicited input from managerial and confidential employees regarding benefit and salary changes to the Managerial/Confidential Personnel Manual; and



WHEREAS, the Steering Committee reviewed and evaluated this input.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the changes in the Managerial/Confidential Personnel Manual be as follows:

1) Provide group dental and vision coverage for retirees at their cost.

2) Allow the use of sick or vacation accumulations if the County or a department is closed due to inclement weather or other acts of God.

3) Add domestic partner health insurance benefits, subject to the county's bench marks for health insurance, and funeral leave as provided for in the Managerial/Confidential Personnel Manual.

4) Increase life insurance for Confidential Professionals to $40,000 effective January 1, 2003.

5) Increase longevity base to $20,000 effective January 1, 2003.

6) Increase vision coverage to provide an exam and lenses every 12 months, and frames to continue at every 24 months.

7) Provide salary increases as follows: three per cent (3%) on December 28, 2002; three per cent (3%) on December 27, 2003; and, three per cent (3%) on December 25, 2004.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the following Ingham County elected officials; Prosecuting Attorney, Drain Commissioner, Register of Deeds, Clerk, Sheriff, and Treasurer shall be provided a three (3) per cent increase on January 1, 2003, January 1, 2004, and January 1, 2005.
