RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A TEEN HEALTH CENTER GRANT LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE INGHAM INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT



RESOLUTION #02-304



WHEREAS, the State of Michigan has contributed funding to support the Adolescent Health Program at Willow Plaza for more than 15 years; and



WHEREAS, the state funds to support these services are now placed in the Michigan Department of Education budget and have to be contracted to a school district; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham Intermediate School District has agreed to act as the contracting agent, passing the funds on to Ingham County through a Letter of Understanding; and



WHEREAS, the Health Officer has advised that these funds are anticipated in the Health Department's 2003 budget and has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Letter of Understanding with the Ingham Intermediate School District.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a Teen Health Center Grant Letter of Understanding with the Ingham Intermediate School District.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the Letter of Understanding shall be October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the total grant budget shall be $103,200, composed of $80,000 in State of Michigan funds and $23,200 in Ingham County matching funds, with the Ingham Intermediate School District retaining $3,795 and the remaining $99,405 being made available to Ingham County to operate the Adolescent Health Program at Willow Plaza.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the Letter of Understanding after review by the County Attorney.
