RESOLUTION HONORING JUDGE LAWRENCE M. GLAZER



RESOLUTION #02-315



WHEREAS, Lawrence M. Glazer has served as a Judge for the Thirtieth Judicial Circuit Court since September of 1987, when he was appointed by Governor James Blanchard; and



WHEREAS, prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Glazer held various positions within the Attorney General's Office, served as Executive Director for the Governor's Advisory Commission on Electric Power Alternatives, Adjunct Professor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Administrative Law Consulting for the State, had a private law practice, served as Issues Coordinator for Blanchard for Governor Campaign in 1981-82 and served as Special Counsel and Legal Advisor to the Governor; and



WHEREAS, during his years on the bench, Judge Glazer served as a Visiting Judge on the Michigan Court of Appeals twice, hearing approximately 80 cases, conferring and voting with the other judges on the panel, he also wrote a published majority opinion, as well as a dissent; and



WHEREAS, Judge Glazer served as a member of Michigan's Criminal Justice Information Systems Policy Council, which sets and enforces policies governing the use of all statewide law enforcement computer data bases, including automated fingerprint identifications system (AFIS) and Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) which stores and distributes all criminal law enforcement data to officers in the field; and



WHEREAS, he also served on the Board of Editors for the Michigan Judicial Institute's Scientific Evidence Manual and has served as a Judge for Thomas M. Cooley Law School's oral advocacy class since 1988; and



WHEREAS, Judge Lawrence M. Glazer is retiring from his position with the Thirtieth Judicial Circuit Court.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Judge Lawrence M. Glazer for his years of service with Ingham County and for the many contributions he has made to the citizens of Ingham County.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
