INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH THE MID SOUTH SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMISSION (MSSAC) AND TO RESTORE A DARE OFFICER AT THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #02-317

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office desires to restore a Law Enforcement Officer position not funded in the 2003 budget process; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office applied for full funding of a DARE Officer for 2003 out of MCL 211.24(e), commonly known as the State Liquor Tax Law funds; and

WHEREAS, Ingham County received approval from the Mid South Substance Abuse Commission (MSSAC) for this funding request

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes entering into a contract with MSSAC for the time period of January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003 in the amount of $ 68,494 for a DARE Officer

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the 2003 budget be adjusted by recognizing an additional $50,994 in MSSAC revenue and $24,000 in Social Security Administration revenue.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller to make the necessary adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2003 budget and Position Allocation List for this purpose.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
