RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A SUBCONTRACT FROM THE TERRORISM CONSEQUENCE MANAGEMENT PREPAREDNESS ASSISTANCE GRANT FROM THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE, EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIVISION



RESOLUTION #02-318



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office had received a grant to procure specialized emergency response equipment from the Michigan Department of State Police, Emergency Management Division per Ingham County Board Resolution number 02-133; and

WHEREAS, sufficient monies are remaining in said grant to fund the purchase of monitoring equipment for chemical agents and full-face respirators with cartridges capable of filtering chemical, biological, radiological and riot agents; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Office of Emergency Services has coordinated with the Ingham County Purchasing Department and Controller's Office to work within County Policy and Procedures for the purchase of said items.



WHEREAS, the purpose of the specialized equipment is to enhance the capability of the state and its political subdivisions to prepare for, respond to and recover from acts of terrorism involving weapons of mass destruction.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the use of the remaining monies from the 2002 State Domestic Preparedness Equipment Grant (SDPEG) from the Michigan Department of State Police, Emergency Management Division

by authorizing a subcontract with Safety Services Inc. for Monitoring Equipment and Gas Masks W/Canisters $39,74.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller to make the necessary adjustments in the 2002 budget for this purpose.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
