RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT SERVER FOR COURTVIEW AND THE ASSOCIATED ORACLE SOFTWARE

RESOLUTION #02-60

WHEREAS, the users of the Courtview Judicial software have experienced unacceptably slow response in using this system; and

WHEREAS, the current Dec Alpha file server that runs the Courtview Judicial software is approximately four years old, and evaluations by the software vendor CCI-Maximus and MIS have determined that this file server and associated Oracle database software is obsolete in its ability to perform its intended function adequately; and

WHEREAS, with consultation from CCI-Maximus the sizing of a replacement box was determined; and

WHEREAS, in working with the Purchasing Department for the replacement of the file server and associated Oracle software, it was determined that purchasing the equipment and software off the State of Michigan Contract provides the best value to the County; and

WHEREAS, the Integrated Judicial Information System (IJIS) Committee has approved the purchase of a Sun Microsystems V880 server not to exceed $90,000 and Oracle 9i database software not to exceed $60,000.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorize a contract for an amount not to exceed $150,000 for the purchase and installation of a Sun Microsystems model V880 file server and associated Oracle 9i database software off the State of Michigan contract.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds for the contract shall be paid from the monies set aside in the IJIS Maintenance for this purpose.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorize the Board Chair and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents for the replacement Courtview file server and the associated Oracle software as to form by the County Attorney.
