RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO THE BLACK CHILD AND FAMILY INSTITUTE ON BEHALF OF CLOSING THE GAP



RESOLUTION #02-90



WHEREAS, Ingham County has periodic need to dispose of surplus computer equipment; and



WHEREAS, Closing the Gap is a program which utilizes surplus computer equipment to provide access to technology to those without resources; and



WHEREAS, the Black Child and Family Institute on behalf of Closing the Gap is willing to enter into an agreement with Ingham County for the use of surplus county computer equipment to assist those in Ingham County without resources to gain access to technology; and



WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that this is an appropriate use of surplus computer equipment.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes an agreement with the Black Child and Family Institute on behalf of Closing the Gap for the use of surplus computer equipment.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign such agreement upon the recommendation of the County Controller and approval as to form by the County Attorney.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that surplus computer equipment not taken by Closing the Gap shall be disposed of to Great Lakes Electronic Recycling as previously authorized by the Board of Commissioners.
