RESOLUTION HONORING ANDREA BELKIN

RESOLUTION #03-105

WHEREAS, Andrea Belkin has been a member of the Women's Resource Center (WRC) staff for 27 years where she worked as the Coordinator of the Single Parent, Displaced Homemaker, Gender Equity program, and as the Coordinator of the Women's Resource Center for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Andrea provided services to thousands of reentry single parents and displaced homemakers and raised the status of women by helping them and their families achieve economic self-sufficiency; and

WHEREAS, Andrea has developed and facilitated a Support and Discussion Group for over 20 years for students and community members; and

WHEREAS, she helped build the Michigan Post-secondary Single Parent, Displaced Homemaker and Non-traditional Career Association and served as its first president; and

WHEREAS, Andrea has been a leader in Michigan among community college programs for single parents and displaced Homemakers and an outstanding supervisor, coworker and friend who provided genuine and heartfelt support to students, coworkers, community members and friends; and

WHEREAS, she also served as a dedicated teacher of student development courses; and

WHEREAS, after twenty seven years of dedicated service, Andrea Belkin is retiring from her position at Lansing Community College.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Andrea Belkin for her years of dedicated service to Lansing Community College and appreciates the contributions she has made to the citizens of Ingham County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
