RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE HISTORIC NATURE OF A 1988

SHERIFF'S OFFICE PATROL CAR



RESOLUTION #03-142



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office ceased using the black and white color markings on its patrol cars that was historically used by many Sheriffs across the country; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office preserved its last black and white patrol vehicle, a 1988 Chevrolet, VIN #1G1BL5163JA157199, to be used for display and parades; and



WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office reallocated its fleet and no longer needed the above described vehicle; and



WHEREAS, the vehicle was sold by bid and was purchased by Mr. Lynn Johnson; and



WHEREAS, because of the historical nature of this vehicle, with its color and markings it should be preserved for future generations.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners recognizes the historic nature of this vehicle and the role it played in the Law Enforcement Community.
