RESOLUTION HONORING ALEXANDER KING COX
�
RESOLUTION #03-022
�
WHEREAS, Alexander King Cox is a senior at Lansing Catholic Central High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society; and
�
WHEREAS, in recognition of his academic achievements, Alexander has earned his academic letter and pin, and also served as his Junior Class Vice-President and Student Senate Vice-President; and
�
WHEREAS, he was an active participant of the St. Thomas Aquinas Cub Scout Pack and joined Boy Scout Troop #63 in 1996,� he has earned 34 merit badges and his World Conservation badge; and�
�
WHEREAS, Alexander served as a member of the Order of� the Arrow and the Brotherhood where he served as Lodge secretary, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, scribe and quartermaster, and also as a staff member at NorthwoodsScout Reservation for four years; and
�
WHEREAS, his eagle project was a pavilion that was built on the grounds of the West Locke Wesleyan Church in memory of� his grandfather, Harold Harshbarger; Alexander�spent 15 hours planning the project, 27 fellow scouts, church members, friends and family members spent an additional 37 hours constructing the project; and
�
WHEREAS, Alexander has earned the highest rank attainable in Scouting, the Eagle Scout
�
WHEREAS,�to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18; and
�
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulate Alexander King Cox for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extend its sincere appreciation to Alexander for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
