RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH VERIZON WIRELESS FOR CORPORATE AND EMPLOYEE CELLULAR PHONE SERVICE AND EQUIPMENT



RESOLUTION #03-88



WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless provides cellular service and equipment to Ingham County departments and their employees; and



WHEREAS, the current contract with Verizon Wireless has expired; and



WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless has provided a proposal containing economical pricing structures, promotional options, rate plans and equipment at competitive prices for the County; and



WHEREAS, the County desires to enter into contract with Verizon Wireless because of its attractive costs and services to County departments and their employees.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes entering into a contract with Verizon Wireless for three (3) years with an option to renew the contract for two (2) additional years, where the Ingham County Controller has the authority to renew the contract after notice is given to County Services.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes Corporate Counsel to draft a contract based on the proposal dated February 25, 2003 submitted by Verizon Wireless.



BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chair and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents as recommended by the County Controller and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
