INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A TITLE CHANGE RECOGNIZING

WHEREAS, the Michigan Employment Relations Commission ruled a certified Law Enforcement Officer who was assigned to a Correction Training Officer position would be represented by a Union that represents all certified Law Enforcement Officers; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to change the title of this position to Police Officer; and

WHEREAS, the change in the title from Corrections Training Officer to Police Officer has no financial impact on the Sheriff's Office Budget; and

WHEREAS, the change in the title is necessary to assist with accounting procedures in the Sheriff's Office Budget.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners Authorizes the title change from Correction Training Officer to Police Officer in the Sheriff's Office Budget, to reflect the ruling from the Michigan Employment Relations Commission.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make the necessary changes in the Position Allocation List and any necessary accounting changes consistent with this resolution.
