RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN ASPHALT FOR

RESURFACING EIGHT (8) AREAS OF THE PARKING LOT AT THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF=S DEPARTMENT

RESOLUTION #04-214

WHEREAS, bids were solicited for resurfacing approximately 160,000 square feet of asphalt at eight (8) areas in and around the Ingham County Sheriff=s Office parking lot area; and

WHEREAS, funds for this project are approved within the appropriate 2004 CIP Budget/Parking Lot Repair; and

WHEREAS, after review of submitted bids it was determined that American Asphalt had responded with the lowest bid, it is the recommendation of both the Purchasing and Facilities Departments that American Asphalt be awarded the contract to perform approximately 160,000 square feet of parking lot resurfacing at the Ingham County Sheriff=s Office for a cost not to exceed $58,949, which also reflects payment of prevailing wage.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes awarding a contract to American Asphalt, 302 S. Charles, Lansing, Michigan 48912 to resurface approximately 160,000 square feet of parking lot area in and around the Ingham County Sheriff=s Office for a cost not to exceed $58,949.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
