INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2004 MEDICAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE INGHAM HEALTH PLAN CORPORATION TO ASSIST HOSPITALS

 

RESOLUTION #04-231

 

WHEREAS, the State of Michigan is preparing to make reductions in the Medicaid, in order to achieve savings in the General Fund; and

 

WHEREAS, these savings to the General Fund will reduce payments to Ingham Regional Medical Center and Sparrow Health System by nearly $1 million; and

 

WHEREAS, Ingham County could assist the hospitals to retain the Federal share of the funding to be withdrawn, nearly $0.5 million; and

 

WHEREAS, Ingham County will need to amend its Medical Services Agreement with the Ingham Health Plan Corporation in order to provide the support to Ingham Regional and Sparrow; and

 

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize an amendment to the Medical Services Agreement with the Ingham Health Plan Corporation to increase the amount of Public Health Nursing services purchased.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an amendment to the 2004 Medical Services Agreement with the Ingham Health Plan Corporation (IHPC) to increase the public health nursing services purchased by the IHPC.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the IHPC shall purchase additional public health nursing services not to exceed $450,000 in value. 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that other terms and conditions of the Medical Services Agreement shall remain unchanged.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the amendment after review by the County Attorney.
