RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REORGANIZATION OF CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY’S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #04-237

WHEREAS, in the 2004 budget, the Prosecutor agreed to hiring delays that would offer savings to the county in the amount of $165,467; and

WHEREAS, as part of this plan, Resolution 03-321 reorganized positions which resulted in position number PRSATY040 being left vacant for 2004 and position number PRSATY063 being increased from 0.50 FTE to 0.75 FTE, resulting in a net vacancy of 0.75 FTE; and

WHEREAS, the Prosecutor has requested that Resolution 03-321 be rescinded, and position number PRSATY040 be filled with a 0.5 FTE employee and PRSATY063 revert back to 0.50 FTE from 0.75 FTE, resulting in a net vacancy of 0.50 FTE; and

WHEREAS, this request is being made due to the volume of warrant work, and the need to produce warrants in a timely fashion for police agencies; and

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is still committed to meeting the 2004 financial savings goals of $165,467 through other attrition.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a reorganization within the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office effective the date of the passage of this resolution which includes the Warrant Clerk position PRSATY040 to be filled on a 0.5 FTE basis for the remainder of 2004 and the employee currently in PRSATY063 reverting  back to 0.5 FTE from a .75 FTE.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk will receive all contractual benefits as a 0.5 FTE effective when the 0.5 FTE warrant clerk position is filled.
