RESOLUTION TO PROCLAIM AUGUST 3, 2004 AS "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT"

IN INGHAM COUNTY

RESOLUTION #04-240

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office is participating in a nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on August 3, 2004 entitled "National Night Out"; and

WHEREAS, the "21st National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for Ingham County to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners play a vital role in assisting the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office in crime, drug and violence prevention efforts in Ingham County and is supporting "National Night Out" locally; and

WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of Ingham County be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and the impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in Ingham County.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners do hereby call upon all citizens of Ingham County to join the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office and the National Association of Town Watch in supporting the "21st National Night Out" on August 3rd, 2004.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners do hereby proclaim Tuesday August 3, 2004 as "National Night Out" in Ingham County.
