 RESOLUTION HONORING JORDAN THOMAS KANE

 

RESOLUTION #04-296

 

WHEREAS,   Jordan Thomas Kane graduated from Williamston High School in June of  2004, where he was an Honor Roll student with a 3.5 - 4.0 grade point average; and

 

WHEREAS, Jordan participated in cross country and track and field, he attended the Capital Area Career Center and was a third place finisher in the VICA SKILLS USA Carpentry Competition 2002/2003; and

 

WHEREAS,  Jordan has been attending Lansing Community College and hopes to be the Chief Executive Officer of his own successful construction company in the future; and

 

WHEREAS, Jordan has been an active member in Boy Scout Troop #63 since 1997 and has earned 25 Merit Badges, he became a member of the Order of the Arrow in 2000 and has served in a number of roles during his years with the Scouts, including Scribe and Patrol Leader; and

 

WHEREAS, Jordan’s Eagle Project consisted of creating, building and finishing identification signs for the Headstart Building in East Lansing, these identification signs mark Headstart’s Office and staff and visitor parking; and

 

WHEREAS, he spent 11.5 hours planning the project and with the assistance of 11 scouts, family members and friends, spent an additional 27 hours carrying out the project.

 

WHEREAS, Jordan has recently earned the highest rank attainable in Scouting, the Eagle Scout; and

 

WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulates Jordan Thomas Kane for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extends its sincere appreciation to Jordan for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
