INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION TO AMEND COMPENSATION PAID TO CERTAIN VETERINARIANS FOR THE SALE OF INGHAM COUNTY DOG LICENSES

 

RESOLUTION #04-323

 

WHEREAS, resolution #01-168 set the compensation to veterinarians for the sale of dog licenses at a rate of one dollar per license sold; and

 

WHEREAS, the owner option of a three-year license is an added service effective with the 2004 license year; and

 

WHEREAS, licensing of dogs is mandatory; and

 

WHEREAS, veterinarian offices assist the County in tracking the ownership address of dog owners; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Treasurer continues working to add licensed veterinarians in Ingham County to the dog license force and desires to compensate such veterinarians at a rate of three dollars per three-year dog license sold and one dollar per one-year dog license sold.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the payment of three dollars per three-year dog license sold and one dollar per one-year dog license sold, to veterinarians who sell Ingham County Dog Licenses pursuant to the authorization granted them to sell dog licenses by the Ingham County Treasurer effective January 1, 2005.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Chairperson, Treasurer and County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
