INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION

AND ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE

MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE

INGHAM COUNTY/CITY OF LANSING COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS

FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006

 

RESOLUTION #05-200

 

WHEREAS, the Michigan Community Corrections Act of 1988 (PA511) authorizes the establishment of a Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB) and Community Corrections Programming; and

 

WHEREAS, Ingham County and the City of Lansing formed a joint CCAB in 1990; and

 

WHEREAS, PA511 also provides for the funding of CCAB Administration and Community Corrections Programming; and

 

WHEREAS, a Comprehensive Community Corrections Plan was approved by the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, the Lansing City Council, and the State Office of Community Corrections; and

 

WHEREAS, PA511 requires the annual submission of an application that identifies planned priorities and strategies to be implemented for the upcoming State fiscal year FY2005-2006.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the grant application submitted to the Michigan Department of Corrections for $370,181 in CCAB Plans and Services funds, $43,200 in Drunk Driving Jail Reduction and Community Treatment Program funds, and $596,410 for Probation Residential Services for a total of $1,009,791 for the time period of October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that should a contract be offered by the Michigan Department of Corrections, the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contracts consistent with this resolution subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney.
