RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH NELSON TRANE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO AIR HANDLING CONTROLS AT THE INGHAM COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
RESOLUTION #06-057
WHEREAS, the current air handling controls are not equipped to monitor or adjust discharge air temperature, nor are they capable of monitoring and/or adjusting cooling and heating valves, this in turn causes levels of unhealthy air and also, increases heating and cooling costs; and
WHEREAS, these improvements are an extension of the energy improvements authorized by the Board in Resolution #04-006 titled “Resolution Authorizing a Performance Contract with Trane Global Controls and Contracting, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the funds for this project have been budgeted and approved within the appropriate 2006 CIP Budget/Upgrade 14 Air Handler Units at the Ingham County Correctional Facility; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of both the Purchasing and Facilities Directors to award this contract to Nelson Trane to install air handling controls that will be compatible with the current control system for a cost not to exceed $48,000.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes entering into a contract with Nelson Trane, 5335 Hill 23 Drive, Flint, MI 48507 to install air handling controls at the Ingham County Correctional Facility for a total cost not to exceed $48,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
