RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE DONATION OF EXCESS

CIRCUIT COURT LAW LIBRARY BOOKS

 

RESOLUTION #07-266

 

WHEREAS, the Veterans Memorial Courthouse, hereinafter VMC, opened in 2001 and brought Judges together from three different locations: Town Center, Washington Avenue and the Mason Annex; and

 

WHEREAS, the move from three locations to one, consolidated books from separate libraries into one Law Library located on the second floor of the VMC; and

 

WHEREAS, that consolidation resulted in extra copies of several sets and individual copies of books; and

 

WHEREAS, the Court has maintained one updated copy of needed subscriptions or individual books; and

 

WHEREAS, there are many books that are duplicated, outdated or lapsed in subscription; and

 

WHEREAS, the Judges have agreed that the extra books are not necessary.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the donation of the excess law books to an Ingham County High School, School of Law or non-profit agency to be used for the benefit of Ingham County residents.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any books not worthy of donation because of condition or age may be disposed of at County Auction.
