RESOLUTION HONORING SUSAN M. C. PIGG FOR HER

SERVICE TO INGHAM COUNTY

 

RESOLUTION #10-212

 

WHEREAS, Susan M. C. Pigg has served as the Economic Development Educator for Ingham County Michigan State University Extension since December 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan has provided creative educational programming and expert technical assistance to Ingham County cities, villages and townships; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan has enthusiastically staffed the Ingham County Economic Development Corporation and the Ingham County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan has been instrumental in the location of new businesses and industries to Ingham County communities; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan has served as a member of the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) since 2004, where she served as President in 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan is the current Chairperson of MEDA’s Education Committee, a committee which she has served on since 1999; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan has also played an important role in the Certified Business Park Program as a committee member since 1999, and as Chairperson from 2000 through 2003; and

 

WHEREAS, in 2003, Susan received the Mike Conboy Professional Development Award for her work in economic development education; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan recently received a President’s Award from the Michigan Economic Developers Association, which is presented to individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to the organization through volunteer work; and

 

WHEREAS, Susan will be leaving her position with Ingham County on August 6, 2010.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Susan M. C. Pigg and extends its sincere appreciation for her service, dedication and the many contributions she has made to the County of Ingham, its businesses and citizens.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
