RESOLUTION HONORING DEBBY STARNES

 

RESOLUTION #10-230

                                                                       

WHEREAS, Debby Starnes began her career with Ingham County in June 1999, as a full-time Public Health Nurse I in the Public Health Nursing Unit of the Ingham County Health Department; and

 

WHEREAS, in December 2003, she became a full-time Public Health Nurse II in the Public Health Nursing Unit providing leadership to the Public Health Nursing team; and

 

WHEREAS, Debby provided mentoring and coordination for student nurses from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, becoming adjunct faculty with the Michigan State University College of Nursing; and

 

WHEREAS,  Debby provided invaluable information on Community Health Nursing to numerous Pediatric Residents from the Sparrow Hospital Pediatric Residency Clinic as she included them in her home visits with health department clients; and

 

WHEREAS, Debby was a member of the Infant Mortality Coalition, assisting with programs to prevent infant deaths; and

 

WHEREAS, Debby worked as a Medical Examiner Investigator in the initial years of the program; and

 

WHEREAS, during her employment as Public Health Nurse, Debby Starnes dedicated herself to helping those who received care at the Ingham County Health Department. She was a dependable and caring colleague who believed in being accountable to the families she served and to her fellow employees.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Debby Starnes for her many years of dedicated service to the County of Ingham and for the contributions she has made to the Ingham County Health Department.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
